How to Get the Best Serviced Office Deal
Everyone likes a good deal and it’s always good to feel you’ve got a little extra for nothing – those extra minutes on your mobile tariff or a few pounds off your holiday. But how do you go about it with serviced offices? We’ve written a short list just to help you on your way. They may not work on everyone, but we have to admit they’ve worked on us when we’ve worked in business centres!
- Go direct. If you know what you want and where you want to be then contact that centre directly. Going via an office broker will cost the operator 10%, which reduces their room for negotiation.
. - Be polite. Not particularly ground breaking, but if you can get the sales person to warm to you then you’re on the right track.
. - Ask. The worst that will happen is that they will say no, but if you don’t ask you don’t get…
- Have reasonable expectations. Business centres are a business in their own right with bills and wages to pay. They offer a great service that you should expect to pay for. Remember, the majority of time it will be far cheaper than traditional offices.
. - Prepare to give and take. Operators will be more inclined to give you some money off if you are willing to give something back – a longer term agreement for example.
. - Be realistic. Serviced offices are fantastic for expanding companies but telling an operator you need one desk now but will grow to 50 in a year has become a bit of a cliche and in most instances is very rare. If you’re realistic with your growth plans then you may be able to negotiated a deal with stepped rental.
. - Move quickly. There is nothing wrong with forward planning but, much like when buying a house, if you can move quickly then you may well be able to get a few pounds off.
Best of luck with your search and please do let us know if any of the tips have worked for you.
