Managing Director of United Business Centres, Philip Grace, has voiced his concern over the recent trend of price cutting on national office news site, Choregus.co.uk.

Echoing the comments made in our article on ‘Incentives from Serviced Offices – A Short Sighted Approach?‘ back in July, Grace wrote “all business centre operators should be out there, shouting from the roof-tops, telling people of the benefits of flexible office space, not diluting the product, to see their income reduced, to find that they’re unable to deliver the services, to the high standards expected by clients” in response to the £1 for an office promtion being run by MLS.

Whether the comments will have any effect, particularly given UBC’s current price match offer, is yet to be seen but Offices North West do welcome the response from a respected professional within the serviced office industry.

We can only re-iterate that while these offers may be welcomed by occupiers, they just aren’t sustainable in the long-term and drops in service levels or future price rises are inevitable.  You should choose your office based on more than their latest offer.
