Virtual Office + Meeting Rooms = Huge Savings

We’ve been a huge fan of virtual offices for years and perhaps now more than ever they could be a really useful tool in keeping costs down for new or small businesses.

For those of you who are new to virtual offices, they basically provide you with the following:

- a local telephone number
- business mailing address
- call answering in your company name
- message taking or call forwarding

It’s just like the set-up if you had a full time serviced office but without actually being there – hence virtual!

If you are setting up a new company or thinking of expanding to a new area then it is a great way to test the market.  You put your name out there with an address and telephone number.  If business takes off then great, you may look at taking a full time office.  If it doesn’t go quite as planned then you haven’t lost much (perhaps £200 – £300) and you can simply end the service and try something new.  The financial exposure is far less than taking an actual office immediately.

Most business centres will offer you the option of just a mailing address too, which is ideal if you are happy to use your home number or have purchased a non-geographic number for the business.  There are alternatives such as PO Boxes but they have one key disadvantage, namely what happens if a client comes to visit?

Business centres already have meeting rooms on site for you to hire, so any clients will be visiting you at the same address as is on your business card or letter head.  What’s more, they can be hired by the hour usually for less than £20.

So, in a month where you receive 20 calls, a few items of post and need to use a meeting room for 5 hours you’ve probably only spent £150 – £200.

If you’re looking at the possibility of a small office at the moment, the perhaps you should consider virtual offices with the option to hire meeting rooms too.
